PRODUKTBESCHREIBUNG

Ultra-Compact 40% Layout

The EPOMAKER TH40 is a marvel in compact keyboard design, featuring a 40% layout that eliminates the number pad, arrow keys, and the traditional top row of number keys. This may sound minimalistic, but many users find this layout enhances typing efficiency. The TH40 includes a split space bar with an FN key conveniently placed between the 2.25u and 2.75u spacebars, designed to minimize finger travel and increase typing speed. Lightweight and portable, this keyboard is ideal for those on the move.

VIA Programmability and Multi-Layer Functionality

Customization is key with the TH40, which is programmable via VIA software. It features four switchable layersβ€”three of which are programmableβ€”allowing users to tailor their keyboard without needing to open the software each time. This flexibility is particularly beneficial for programmers and typists who require specific setups for their tasks.

Advanced Gasket Design

The TH40 uses a gasket mount design for reducing keystroke noise and minimizing the hollow sound. It incorporates Poron plate foam, an IXPE black switch pad, and bottom Poron foam, all contributing to a more satisfying acoustic typing experience.

Versatile Tri-Mode Connectivity

Equipped with tri-mode connectivity, the TH40 supports Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, and USB connections. This versatility ensures seamless switching between different devices, making the keyboard suitable for gaming, professional work, or mobile use with a laptop.

Full N-Key Rollover

The TH40 supports full N-Key Rollover, allowing multiple keys to be pressed simultaneously without conflict. This feature ensures fast, smooth typing without lag or key conflicts, making it ideal for fast typists and gamers.

Dynamic RGB Lighting

Enhance your typing experience with customizable RGB lighting effects. The TH40 offers a variety of lighting modes, adding a dynamic aesthetic to your setup that responds to your keystrokes.

Need to upgrade the latest firmware and VIA could work

Met the same problem on VIA showing that "Fetching v3 definition failed" error. I downloaded the latest TH40 firmware from the website and flashed it. Then VIA could recognize it.

Try it!

Hardware Top Software Yok

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the quick delivery of the Keyboard. The Hardware is in good condition and feels really great to use. Unfortunately the default keymapping has no : or ; button mapped. Until i can remap those keys it is for programming purposes unusable. I have reached out to customer support and got a very quick response, but the content of the reposnse was exactly the same instruction given on the website and did not help. I have tried the whole weekend to get VIA to recognize the Keyboard but no improvement yet. The Via webapp says "failed to fetch v3 definition" when connecting with us cable and shows a GMMK Numpad Layout in the configuration tab ov VIA. So currently i am trying to reverse engineer the hardware and microcontroller that are in use to try and write my own firmware, since the hard ware is really really cool. Thanks for reaching out, and if You get the chance to give an example how to port to QMK or how to make the keyboard work with VIA or something else, let me know.
Kind Regard
Ansgar

Overall great IF you are willing to mess around to get the VIA customisation to work

Very nice keyboard overall with one issue… the sloppy VIA implementation. I have managed to work around all issues but one, but it took time. The layer modifier code trigger and macro implementation does not work properly (if you code the macros manually and paste them all in in one session then the macros work). There are also other missing default VIA functionality, e.g. short and long press VIA functionality where long press of shift is shift and short press a bracket ( or ). Now when I have managed to set it up ALMOST properly it is really really (yes, two really) good. Sounds and feels great, with other tactical switches. The wireless implementation is perfect. Switches device very quickly. Very light keyboard (430 grams), so it is a perfect keyboard to use when you are on the move. Good quality plastic case with adjustable angle! Comes with good quality keycaps, but I do not use them. There is NO other competition in this market segment (easily accessible, wireless, light, 40% keyboard). If they would fix the VIA implementation it would be perfect.

Nice keyboard but software too limited

Finally a split spacebar keyboard from Epomaker! Bad news, however: there are many VIA/QMK functions that do not work properly (e.g. LT(), MT(), OSL(), mouse keys). This is true across all 3 Epomaker keyboards i own (and for this reason never use), but especially problematic in this 40% keyboard, making it very difficult to configure in a usable way. Unfortunately cannot use and cannot recommend.
