The main reason I order this keyboard is because I study programming and I really want a QMK/VIA compatible, work-focused keyboard, and this keyboard fits all the points of my needs.
I pre-ordered this and took around 5-weeks to ship (though this is understandable as this is a pre-order).
After receiving the keyboard I am quite surprised by the general quality of the keyboard.
- The chassis although technically made of plastic felt thick and high-quality that I initially thought it was aluminium.
- I was initially skeptical that I would like the keycaps, but after feeling it for myself I genuinely enjoy them, they are matt and yet shine-through the backlight really nicely/brightly, though I do find the prints on them to be a bit meh.
- The encoder-knobs are aluminium and feel great, there's a bit of a wobble but I wouldn't really mind.
- I have the Gateron Yellow switches and I think I generally enjoy them, though I will admit I'm not an expert on keyboard keys
- Also the keyboard stand has two height positions which is great really great plus these feets feel so strong I don't think they will ever break
- Since this is my work keyboard, I didn't really mind the lack of RGB or per-key settings, the LED black lights is stupidly bright
Cons I found:
- The stabilizers for the two shifts, backspace and enter feel really really mushy, it doesn't feel lubed at all, It's not a hard issue to fix, but it can be improved from the manufacturer side
- I actually knew this before ordering, but basically although this keyboard is advertised as QMK/VIA compatible, as of now the keyboard's firmware is not yet part of the official QMK repo yet, I wasn't able to get the QMK configurator to work, I did manage to sideload the JSON file into VIA easily though
Note though: This isn't really Skyloong's fault, I checked the QMK GitHub and Skyloong had made a pull-request to QMK which was ignored by QMK for literally around a year which is quite shocking.
Overall, this keyboard was a nice buy even at full-price, I haven't trying it from the gaming perspective but for typing and coding, I have found it to be very very fun to type on, the only thing I don't like are the stabilizers, Skyloong should have lubed them better, but it isn't enough for me to not recommend this keyboard.
This keyboard is great and I highly recommend for anyone who wants a keyboard focused on productivity, 8/10.
